Did you know...
…Istanbul is a town where a man got off the ground for the first time ever! Medieval chronicles fixed that there was a certain Ahmed Celebi who constructed wings from thin wood, went up to Galata Tower (61 m. high) and jumped down. Soaring on the wings he hopped Bosporus. However this didn’t bring money to Celebi. He was considered to be a sorcerer and was sent to Algeria.

The area is way too busy and noisy, I wanted to open windows but there\s too much noise, the location is not quiet at all. Curtains and carpet should be cleaned from dust more often, the room was also very small other than that it was fine, had eevrythign necessary in room. Nothing extraordinary.

This hotel is so close to Aya Sphia it is perfect if you have not been to Istanbul before. The hotel is in an ideal situation for getting around, and is only a short walk to Topkapi Palace too. The areas surrounding the Adora Hotel are lively, which is nice. The hotel rooms are fairly tired, but clean, and the breakfast is good, various fruit juices and croissants, jams/butter/cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, various breads and a toaster if you want toast, and tea/coffee .. so a good start to your day. The staff are all very pleasant, so for a short stay to Istanbul yes I would recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant stay here for 4 nights. Adora hotel is located in historical Sultanahmet-Sirkeci - exactly where all museums and monuments are ( Topkapi Palace, St.Sophia etc. ). Close to Bosphorus. Staff all friendly and helpful, breakfast good value and rooms clean and sound proof. Interesting area walking towards Topkapi Palace which was within easy reach. Saint Sofia just down the road, very good value hotel.

Adora hotel was good for what I wanted - a budget hotel that was clean & in a great location. The staff was friendly & spoke decent english. My room was small but adequate since it was only me (would have been a squeeze for 2 though, but I think I had one of the smaller rooms). Breakfast at the hotel was good, but I always went into town and got something from a street vendor instead (highly recommended! :)). The location is great, just a 2 minute walk from historical sights. The hotel area itself was ok, didn’t feel unsafe. Really this hotel was a great choice and I definite will recommend it to friends (and have already).

The staff was very helpful and responsive, the quality of breakfast was excellent - it was tasty and various. The Adora hotel is situated very conveniently - it’s very close to Sultanahmet area and there is a tram stop next to the hotel, so you can easily get to any other part of the city of Istanbul. But my only complaint is about houskeepers!! Sometimes the bath room in my room was not very well cleaned and a couple of times they didn’t change the towels, I had to go and ask from front desk myself.

This hotel was great value as it was clean and modern with friendly and helpful staff. The center of Istanbul was the best. The rooms were cleaned daily and 24-hour cover at the front desk. Free internet in rooms.

Its an amazing value. You’re right next to Saint Sophia and Topkapi Palace, walking distance to so many nice little shops and restaurants. A fabulous spicy market. The rooms are a bit snug, but I didn’t do much other than sleep in mine. Istanbul is a great town, and this is a great way to get a nice hotel and save a few euros, with a very friendly staff.

We hope to stay at the same homely, hospitable place during our next trip to Istanbul. Benefits: very convenient location in Sultanahmed in an enjoyable walking distance from Ayia Sophia; simple, but comfortable double room, including minibar; rich breakfast and last but not least a possibility to shop for a simple supper just across the hotel door. All that for a budget price of EUR 55 per night. The only problem - overuse of aromatised cleansers!!!

Fabulous hotel. Although basic rooms, was absolutely spotless, sheets & towels changed every day. Tea/coffee facilities in room AND IN THE LOBBY DURING THE DAY, nice smelling complimentary toiletries. Breakfast great and plentiful and staff were most helpful and obliging. Location not just as central as we thought, but its right beside Saint Sophia and center of Sultanahmet area so absolutely no problem walking around. Would definitely go back and plan to later this year.

Stayed here three nights november 2008 with my husband. Location excellent got airport express to hotel for free. Close to Bosporus. Hotel staff very welcoming and informative. Room a bit small but spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Sleepers and bathrobes in the bathroom. Breakfast excellent. Also had dinner in the restaurant across the street which was excellent with very good service. I could not fault our stay and will return.

They have friendly and helpful staff and good atmosphere in the hotel , but I didn’t like the location, too busy, too noisy. Breakfast was fair but not “hot” as promised, it was all th time slightly warm and they didn’t have any fried eggs.

We stayed at the Adora Hotel for two nights and were pleasantly surprised at what an upscale hotel this was for such a reasonable price. It is exactly n the center of Old Town, it is easy to get there. The rooms had air conditioning and while the rooms were not extremely large, they were clean and very comfortable. TV, direct-dial phone in room, safe and even soundproof windows! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here from the 2nd to the 5th of April of 2009..I totally agree with the guys who posted on here earlier: convinient location, delicious breakfasts with a wide choice of foods, wonderful service.. Rooms are different in size..My hubby and I had a bigger room..apart from 2 beds and 2 night stands we had another table with two chairs, closet for clothes in the door way, big bathroom..windows facing the hotel next door, hanging flower pot.. My friend had a smaller room, but with a nice view at Gulhane park next to Topkapi Palace..trams are passing every now and then but it doesn’t bother.. the hotel itself is small and cozy, nice design, polite stuff. By the way there is a concept posted on the web-site, I must say the hotel meets my expectations in reality. It’s really nice to get a bathrobe and sleepers in a hotel with a reasonable rate and have a chance for free tea and cofee any time of the day. Thanks for the breaksfast. When you have only breakfast in the hotel it’s important that it’s good breakfst (especially for men). There is a restaurant-cafe in the hotel..several tables are on the terrace, several tables are in the hall of the hotel. Yuo can have a lunch or dinner, coffe or alcoholic drinks . Prices are normal for street cafe of such class.Salad costs from 8 to 13 TYL, a meal 13-25 TYL (U.S. dollar rate is 1:1.5). Eevrything is very tasty! Portions are pretty big. My friend and I were good with just soup and salad ;)) Stuff is very polite but not annoying. The hotel is located in the historical center, between Sultanahmet and Sirkeci...all the sights of the old city are near: Blue mosque, Sanat Sophia, Topkapi Palace.. Central street Divanyolu, famous for monuments of the Ottoman Empire and leading to the Grand Bazaar and Eminonu, leading to the Fish Market, Galata Tower, Taksim area, as well as Egyptian Market and Sirkeci railway station where famous Orient Express arrived at are all ocated equally far from the Adora Hotel. In general, great hotel! Thanks you Adora hotel for our wonderful weeekend in beautiful Istanbul.

My first time in Istanbul and had read review on Adora (Yes from here), after making my hotel booking. Was quite worried that i might be hugely disappointed but quite amazing, that the hotel is not as bad as some described. In fact, I would say it’s real value for money. Paid $50 for a room and you get a nice view & high floor. Room is average but at least it’s clean and comfortable, what more can i ask for? The best thing is it’s located in Sultanahmet so shopping is absolutely convenient!

The reception & common area of the hotel is okay, but the room was far behind than what I expected. The air conditioner was not in good condition, water was muddy in colour & smelled weird, time to replace new mattresses, etc. Staff was friendly & efficient. The convenient shop next to hotel offers reasonable price as compared to the others. Location was the best among all criteria.

We’re from the U.S., stayed at this hotel for one week and it was really nice. The rooms were designed perfectly for tourist and very well equipped/Furnished , TV in the room, minibar. Staff - Amazing as they helped every day in arranging travel to and from istanbul, taxis, assisting in getting us international calling cards, sightseeing advice/bookings. They spoke good English and we found them exceptionally helpful. Room services – They did a brilliant job and none of our belongings every went missing! Very kind and polite men. Fantastic hotel , affordable and I would highly recommend this.
