Centrum Hotel [S-class]  

We stayed at Centrum 8th November 2008. Although we stayed only one night it was amazing. We booked a double room and for some inexplicable reason it was upgraded. The decor is extremely tasteful, very art deco. In fact all the furnishing and accessories are to the highest standard. The room was immacutely clean, and the bedding was beautiful and the sheets had a very soft almost silky texture. The mattress was very comfortable. There was a nice TV. There was a minibar, AC and ceiling fan. As well as a hairdryer in bathroom. Ok the only thing which i felt slightly uncomfortable with was the number of painting in the room i’m sure most people would appreciate but personally they quite scary looking for a philistine like myself.

THIS HOTEL IS AWESOME FOR THE PRICE, RIGHT IN CENTER OF SIRKECI, AND 30 SECONDS IN CAR TO SIGHTS. EVERYTHING IS GOOD

We stayed for 4 days in September (08). The air conditioner wasn’t working in our room so it’s a good thing the window opened and we had a fan. The beds were okay but the pillows were not and there were no spare pillows or blankets. The bathtub/shower did not drain well. The good part was that the breakfast buffet was nice and a la carte restaurant, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was convenient, although the neighbourhood was a bit on the dodgy side, as one other reviewer wrote. It looks like they are trying to clean it up but we were never worried about our personal safety. I’d stay again.

I was not too impressed. Centrum Hotel is an average hotel, I wouldn’t give it four stars, it’s small and very cramped.

We found the hotel was clean and the staff pleasant and friendly. The only down side were the beds, they were quite narrow, not that the room was small, there was adequate space for wider beds. The hotel is well positioned in Sirkeci you can travel to the centre of Istanbul in no more than few minutes, thus making the hotel a good base for exploring the city. There is a small supermarket nearby and a number of restaurants. I can recommend this hotel from our experience and would certainly stay there again.

the hotel is really nice, located in sirkechi the hotel is very clean, rooms are big, and breakfast was great. the only problem was that the elevator wasnt working all the time, luckily it was working when we had to take our lugguge. they have an internet for free there, but the connection is really slow. afterall, its really a good choice for staying in istanbul.

This hotel is not really worth the price I paid, my room had a stinky smell and neighbors were so noisy and I complained but the clerk at reception said he can’t do anything about it, but I paid for this room a bunch of money why should I tolerate it?? I couldn’t sleep. Other than that, hotel has a great location.

The Centrum was a nice clean hotel sirkeci which made it very convenient. There was not much in the neighborhood, but it was easy to get all over town by tram. Our room was large, very clean, and somewhat depressing, yet a real value for the money. The breakfast was substantiual and held in a nice dining room and best of all there was free internet access in the lobby.

We stayed at the Centrum and liked it so much we chose it again on a return independent-travel visit to Istanbul. Small, not fancy; but clean and comfortable, with friendly staff. Attractive breakfast room. Few minutes from city center by car.

I don’t think Centrum should be classified as 4 stars! Location is great, but the rest needs to be improved. My main gripe was the staff that needs to be trained better, cause I asked for directions and they said they don’t know??! I mean its their job, they are supposed to eb knowelgable about things like that. It was hard to eg tany information from them. They weren’t too friendly either, as they should cause front desk clerks represent the hotel!!Key cards didn’t always work and we had to be back to the desk to get new ones multiple times, and the day before we left somethong happened to the door and we had to wait for two hoyrs until they fixed it and I couldn’t get my stuff from the room!!

hi everyone, you only get what you pay for out there, i,m going to this hotel in feb and you are putting me off a little, when on hoiladays you only expect to sleep in the room unless you are a sado who hangs around the hotel all day,

I stayed in the hotel in october, it was?nt so bad... but the hotel need a "makeover". They were cleaning every day but it looked dirty anyway. Can?t tell about the food, I was?nt having dinners but brakfast was ok. Very friendly staff. Istanbul was a little to croudly for me.

I’ve spend there 2 weeks in september, i had a standard room, for 4 star hotel i thought it should be enough, the only thing air con wasn/t working properly, but still good hotel. istanbul is a realy nice place.

Nice hotel, not too expensive, easy to get to from the airport, tram station. What I liked about it when I was there was friendly waiters, helpful and knowledgeable reception clerks, the international atmosphere and good food at a la carte restaurant, roof terrace with an amazing view at Bosporus.

We spent a night in early December 2008. Everything is new and clean. Buffet breakfast is okay. (Nothing special, but....) It is located in sirkeci, so during the weekends and at night the place it is very calmed (but not dangerous). You have to walk to the city center, or an alternative can be the tramway. Restaurant on top of hotel really great, that view is stunning. Loved the sauna in the hotel, very relaxing.

The Hotel Centrum is a recently modernised hotel in the district of Sirkeci. Due to the proximity to a main tram route it is really easy to get into the historic centre from here. Being a 4 star hotle there is FREE highspeed internet access. The rooms were clean, spacious, modern and very good value. I had the loweest grade room which had a comfortable bed, armchair, desk, satellite TV (mainly German and Italian channels but including BBC world and CNN) and a minbar. The bathroom was clean, modern and well stocked with goodies... The room was airconditioned and the window opened (an unusual bonus nowadays). Most impressive thing about the hotel was the outstanding food - good value, well cooked and drinks were not too extortionate. Turkish bath and sauna, lobby bar are big plus, everything for your relaxation LOL!

I was expecting the typical bare minimum transit hotel experience, but upon arrival i noticed i was probably wrong. The exterior of the hotel and the lobby were new and modern. The room was very nice, TV, free internet in room available, nice minibar, really nice bathroom, comfortable bed. Its obvious the hotel was recently renovated. The free breakfast was nice also. A la carte restaurant had all kind s of food for vegetarians like me. The hotel is in a not so pretty part of town, meaning it seems to be an older part of town. Also, it seems there is not great water pressure where i was, the 2nd floor. But for me Centrum hotel filled the purpose and i would definitely stay there again. Staff was very friendly and spoke good english too.

I really liked this hotel. Simple but in a good location, very convenient and nice people are working there. Very helpfull.
