I booked a room here cause other hotels were all booked. Stayed here with my husband. I thought the room was quiet large for two, clean and comfortable. Only the breakfast was not good. Service is above average.

Well, I was out of the room most of the time, only slept there, so it was not too bad but I still think yo ucan find better hotels in Istanbul than Golden Crown. They had stained sheets and stained towels, and I found hair in the bathroom, it should be cleaned better.

Stayed here mid December and though it very good value for a hotel like that. The room was not huge, but very clean, with amazing range of international TV channels and an excellent breakfast, with plenty of fresh variety. The rate was a lot more reasonable than most other Istanbul hotels I have stayed in. I will certainly stay here again.

Nice, modern hotel located 2 minutes by foot from Grand Bazaar, near loads of restaurants. We stayed in the double room which was spacious for our standards and had enough room for 2 large suitcases. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. The mini-bar in room was very convenient, after a LONG day of sightseeing in Istanbul it was great to just stay in room and enjoy the drinks. My husband even got the recipe from your site and prepared a cocktail for me :) We would certainly return to this hotel.

When we arrived at Golden Crown and checked in i thought another hotel with dirty rooms, unfortunately the housekeeping team in this hotel is not doign a good job i found dust everywhere and it was dirty underbeds. This is not acceptable. Howeve we had a great view from room windows, location is neat.

The rooms are a good size. We had a nice dressing area near the door where the wardrobe was. The hotel is convenient for visiting Spicy Market, Blue Mosque and the local transport system which is perfect for sightseeing. There is a mini-bar, phone, AC, TVset in the room. The breakfast was generous buffet style and very yummy.

Golden crown hotel didnt really live up to its rating. Its location was in a great place in the heart of Istanbuls attractions but was difficult to find and not very accessible to get to from the airport, we should have used the free transfer but we didn’t . Our room smelled like cigarettes though it was non-smoking and as someone mentioned on here already it was very small indeed. The A/C was very noisy and when I asked at reception they said that’s the way it works. It was hard to fall asleep and I wanted to turn it off but it was too hot in room.

It is a solid three plus stars hotel for sure. Checking in was smooth, we were whisked to our rooms in mins. The view from the window was a nice touch to room it had nice views. The room had a TV with local and foreign channels, a phone, a it was very clean. Huge plus. Rooms were of good size, well furnished, and looks pretty new. The bathroom was small but was clean and well proportioned. The hotel is located in a quite area; but near spicy Market which has links to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque. It was 5 mins walk to the hotel. near the hotel there are a wealth of places to eat. Breakfast was included in our rate and very good to me!! I It was worth EVERY Penny.

Yes the rooms are small, but I’m sure many would return again - including us! The hotel is modern, it’s right next to Grand Bazaar, Saint Sofia, a few minutes from Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the staff were great and extremely helpful, the lobby and rooms are as lovely as they say, with AC, TV, phone; and the breakfast was lovely! Would stay again - enough said.

I think Golden Crown hotel in Istanbul suffers from the same issue many turkish hotels suffer from: outdated facilities, high prices, average service, and incredibly small rooms. But this hotel was not the crappiest hotel ive ever stayed in but it wa sstill not so good. It literally smelled like someone sprayed chemicals in the room right before i got there. Breakfast was eatable but I found a better place to eat not so fat from hotel.

This was a great deal for the price in Istanbul. Clean room comfortable bed and a great breakfast buffet. Could have used a bigger TV though but otherwise it can’t be beat. 5 minutes away from Old Town. Restaurant is quite handy on the opposite corner.

When got to the room we turned the air conditioner on and it would only run for a minute,, called the front desk and told him about it. He said he would be there shortly. We waited over 30 mins and he did not show up so I called again. He came and eventually changed out the air conditioner. But when we came back came back the room was cold but the air conditioner was noisy all night.

Rooms are not very large but rather comfortable: the carpet, the glass packet, the telephone line, the TV set, mini bar (against payment), the air conditioner, the safe (in the wardrobe), the bathroom is equipped with very modern sanitary utilities and spacious douche. There are additional pillows and blankets in the wardrobe. The towels were changed every day, the linen was changed one or twice per four nights.
The warm water, a good heating system, quietness in the room, cleanness, the cup of tea with bread and butter and a boiled egg for breakfast. What else do you need between the excursions around the museums and historical monuments?
The hotel is very well situated in a quiet street and you may use any of the advantages necessary for the tourists who came to Istanbul for sightseeing tour: 3 minutes walk to the tram station (Chemberlitas station), 10 minutes walk to Sultanhamet Square, 25 minutes walk to the quay and Galat Bridge, about 5-7 minutes walk to the Bazaar and trade streets…

The hotel is situated very conveniently for those who desires to see the historical center n detail. It takes only 5 minutes walk till the Blue Mosque. In the nearby there is the land metro line. 2 more hotels – Mina hotel and Hali hotel – are situated in the neighborhood. I was not satisfied with trhis hotel, the moment i walked in the hotel i was glad as the lobby looks nice but i was disappointed wit hroom service, as they didn’t clean well and besides that we hafd a probem with the air sonditioning. Nice area but hotel isn’t worth the money spent.

Lovely hotel - bedrooms a good size. Location good. Breakfast v.good & it was nice to have a minibar before bed - can recommend this hotel without hesitation. If there was to be one negative it would be with the front desk staff - who were not overly friendly.

Golden Crown hotel is ideally placed due to the fact that it is within walking distance of Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque. The city has an unbelievable amount of sights to see and things to do. A visit to Blue Mosque is a must. Please do not let the exterior of this hotel and the local arcitecture put you off from a stay. I have stayed at this hotel three times and will be staying again in March 09.

This hotel would be ok if it was rated two stars but it is three star hotel and believe me it doesn’t make any difference from two stars. Room smell liek tobacco, dusty, small rooms, stained sheetes, staff not polite enough as should be, the only good thing is location.

This hotel is a perfect base to investitgate all of Istanbul. The exterior of this hotel and the surroundings do not appear pleasant. This is purely cosmetic. The hotel is located right in the center of the old city. These areas are considered to be both desireable locations and bohemian areas by the locals. The rooms in this hotel are clean, comfortable and large. The bathroom facilities are excellent and the breakfast is not bad. The crowning glory of this hotel is the quality of the staff. All exceedingly helpful and have a good standard of English.

Room was small and so was the bathroom, found hair on the floor, and they forgot to refill the toiletries sevral times, but the great thign about this hotel is its location inheart of istanbul. so if you don’t really liek to spend too much time in the room you could go for this hotel but if you prefer comfort and luxury then this is not the right hotel.

I have to agree with the previous reviewers. This hotel is a wonderful value. The location is fantastic, just around the corner from Grand Bazar and the high street with plenty of wonderful restaurants, pubs and shops. Despite being so close to Grand Bazar, it’s location on a quiet street made for a good night’s sleep. The staff were all efficient, friendly and helpful, and we very much appreciated the complimentary internet access, tea and coffee in the lobby, and the comfortable lounge. We didn’t try the breakfast as there were so many options in downtown, but it looked substantial and fresh.The room and bathroom were typical size but squeaky clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Wonderful hotel!

The room looked nice, had a TV, a/c, mini-bar..but they didn’t refill it every day. I think if they’re going to charge for items in mini-bar, they should have at least provided those items. Also, the prices were ridiculuous. My room didn’t have a nice view and the window was dirty.

This Golden Crown hotel was convenient to attractions, quiet, clean and had a very helpful staff. The breakfast was wonderful. My husband thought the room was a little small, but it was bigger than I expected of a hotel in old town homes. Will stay there again.

Service at the hotel was not that extraordinary. Having free transfer was nice (otherwise finding the hotel would be a nightmare) and free breakfats saved us a ton of money. My complaint was that I got a non-smoking room but it smelled like smoke.
