Romance Hotel 

Staying in this hotel was a good experience in general. I think accommodation was fine for the money we paid. Breakfast choices could have been better and employees could have been more friendly!

I think Romance hotel was reasonable priced. The room we got was clean and basically in good condition. The downside was the lack of fan in the bathroom and fuzzy TV was annoying. Reception service wasn’t great.

My husband and I were travelling to Istanbul for work and stayed here. Romance Hotel was average. It was clean and the AC worked well. But the wirelss interent was not working. The breakfast was basic. Also, the hotel was pretty far from the best restuarnts in the area, so that was not good.

Just come back from Isatnbul where we stayed at the Romance Hotel. The hotel is in a great position very local to all the sights. the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, The Palace, Blue Mosque, Ferries Trams and Trains are all within a short walk. Plenty of nice restaraunts nearby, my advice is that in Istanbul eat where the locals eat or be ripped off!
The Hote Romancel is very clean with a great selection at breakfast, the rooms are adequate but if you want a balcony better request it we were in room 502 which had one not all do and I think this makes the room slightly smaller but it was worth it. I would recommend this hotel.

I booked this hotel through this web-site. When we arrived the front desk person wanted to put us in a different type of room other than what we reserved. I was glad there was a representative from TurkeyTPS with us at check-in cause they helped us in this situation. If it wasn’t him I don’t know how I would explain this to the front desk agent cause they barely spoke English and I don’t speak any Turkish! The other problem we had was with the A/C, it just quit working on the second day of our stay. They did offer to move into another oom but it was too much trouble to move our stuff and I did like our room so we refused but we had to stay without the AC and it was kind of inconvinient.

Great choice for being local to everything, all in walking distance or if you have trouble walking a tram stop is a very short walk away which will take you anywhere for 1.4 TL.

Just as the other guest we had the same trouble, we were almost forced to move into another room upon arrival by the front desk agent (though we reserved a double-bedded room). I guess this hotel has a history of not putting guests in the types of room they reserved and not honoring the reservation!! I refused to accept that and they did gave us the right room. My advice is be insistent and don’t fall for it!

Romance Hotel is very comfortable with all the amenities one would expect from a 4 star Turkish hotel. Although the beds were small, they were very comfortable. The food we ordered from room service was very good. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to make sure they get to the airport conveniently and wants to stay in comfort. Romance Hotel is a smart looking hotel and staff who were extremely helpful and efficiant. Rooms were smart and well equiped and considering how close to the airport. Restaurant is a bit expensive for evening meal but there is a cheap and cheerful pub across the road that does cheap eats aplenty. However, the breakfast is excellent and well worth the suppliment to set you up for a long days travelling. Thank you!

I had the occasion on 11/14 to spend the night at the Romance due to a missed connection, when i was enroute to London. The kiosk at airport made the reservation for me (it was 22:30 p.m.). The room was large, definitely smoke free, and clean. The restaurant provided a nice glass of wine and the brekfast, was delicious. Having not brought my stash of lira, I was so glad that the hotel personnel were able to use my Visa card to such good purposes as the bar, the breakfast. Thank you all, especially the concierge Eric, who called British Airlines for me to check on their opening time the next morning.

Stayed for a week in November 2008 with tour group. Accomodations were excellent, but some of the staff were ’’cranky’’. ( Not at the desk ). We were told not to take fruit or crackers from the breakfast display... before our tours of the city. The eggs were cold, in a bowl, only good if you got there on the dot of breakfast time. The dinners were only fair. One night we had chicken legs/thighs and french fries!! I didn’t come to Turkey for that! Other patrons looked like they had excellent meals, but I think ours was for the ’’tourists’’.. not a good impression! If you want some real food, jump the fence next door and go to the restaurant next door!! The rooms were very nice, clean, and neat.

Ideal location provides you direct transfer from the airports. There are many attractions that you can reach by foot. That was the most important thing for me. No trouble about transport! Rooms are small. Hot water is available in the bathroom. I found the room quiet cheap for an istanbul hotel like that in such a location. Very friendly staff. Recommended!

You get what you pay for and that includes service The rooms were small, but clean, and although they did not have a fridge, we could keep items in the hotel fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the only problem we had during our stay was that elevator broke down.

We stayed at the Romance hotel in November and we got the best we could possibly get for the price. The room was tiny but always clean, breakfast was fine and romance hotel staff friendly. As for the location you couldn’t ask for more.

Booked Romance hotel 2nd time and my 2nd stay at this hotel was as good as 1st one. everything function properly(24hr hot water,AC & tv, minibar) Hotel staff were helpful. Will stay here again.

The Romance Hotel is literally in the center of old town. Our room was modern with a double bed and a very nice bathroom, it even had a bathroom phone!. The window overlooked the street and was quite nice. The room is without a lot of decoration, but it is good sized and everything was clean. My boyfriend and I arrived in Istanbul on the first night of our 10 day trip. We were travelling so this hotel was a nice place to start. Istanbul is a lovely city - you must check the oAya Sophia and and also the spicy market is amazing - I believe it was on Saturday.The Blue Mosque is also worth a watch. Istanbul is a very lovely city without being too overwhelmingingly large. Note - check on turkeytps.com for nice rates on the Romance hotel.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the old city and is easy to locate. It is decorated in modern simple style. The room is tidy and clean. The worse about this hotel was that the waitress there never stopped keepping her eyes on us to see if we would "steal" any of the ham and cheese from the buffet table which gave us very uneasy feeling. Except for this, the hotel is generally good.

Romance Hotel was my first stop in Istanbul and I spent one night in this hotel. I was travelling by car, so it was very easy to find the hotel because Romance Hotel is just in downtown. It is also close to the Grand Bazaar and everything worths to visit in Istanbul. My room was not the best one I’ve seen, but it was OK.

I stayed here on December 2008 for two nights. My room was of average size and to be honest the decoration was a little bit bland. Staff were the most helpful, they helped me with questions about getting around. The hotel was very close to main attractions, it was right in the city center. I had to leave earlier than my frinds that I arrived with to spend the vacation in Istanbul so it was great that the hotel offers transfer to the airport.

Two of us stayed 5 nights in October. Very convenient location in the heart of the city most attractions were within walking distance. The room and breakfast were very basic. This met our needs for a good place to shower and lay our heads each night and have a small breakfast. We had a streetside room but after the windows and drapes were closed it was quiet. It was great for people watching out the window.If we ever can get back to Istanbul we would definately stay here again. We got to see much of the surrounding area.So if you need a convenient location choose this hotel.

hi i really enjoyed this holiday because the staff were really kind and helpfull it was clean but the only thing that was not so good was the food in the evenings which was quite dissapointing (I’m not really fond of Turkish cuisine )but overall i thourouly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Room had a satellite TV, fireplace, safe, air-conditioning, mini-bar.
