Sunlight Hotel 

Staff excellent. Room was standard as all in Istanbul. Good location. Disappointed with breakfast,only cheese, boiled eggs, bread, tomatoes and cucumber could do with some cold meats.

Мы с мужем жили 6 ночей в октябре 2010г в этом отеле. Расположение отеля отличное, почти всё время ходили пешком - правда, местность холмистая. Персонал очень внимательный. При том, что наш английский совсем плох, особенно приятно, что тебя искренне стараются понять и помочь. Завтрак, возможно, не разнообразный, но обильный, при желании можно позавтракать очень плотно. Номер небольшой, но всё необходимое есть - и вещи куда положить, и самим где разместиться :) Очень порадовали нормальная двуспальная кровать, а не сдвинутые две, работающий фен и ежедневная смена полотенец. Мы путешествуем довольно много, это встречается далеко не всех трёшках. Мы выбирали этот отель за хорошее расположение и невысокую цену и остались очень довольны. Кстати, на самостоятельном путешествии с Turkey TPS получилось прилично сэкономить - тур "Стамбул без экскурсий" с нашим вариантом перелета и размещением в отеле "Санлайт" через турфирму на двоих был дороже на 10 тысяч! :)

Good 3 star hotel, the room was small, but we only spent nights there. Great breakfast, we had a hearty meal every day, polite staff, close to main attractions...
If I go to Istanbul once more, I will definitely stay there again...

All in all Sunlight is a nice hotel, the only problem the location was very busy and very noisy, couldn’t open the window because of noise. Other than that it was a good stay, but next time I choose a different location.

Sunlight hotel was not so good experience. The A/C suddenly stopped working in the middle of the night and when we asked the front desk in the morning they said it broke down but I think they are savign money!! Breakfast was average.

This was our 1st time in Istanbul, and we decided to pick this hotel because of its proximity to the Old City. We were able to leave our bags before our check in time and ask for information from the staff at the front. They spoke English and were very helpful. The rooms are a little small but clean. We had a TV.The breakfast was included into the price of the hotel, and let me tell you...the breakfast was great! This was my husband’s 1st time eating in a buffet-style place, and he kept going back and forth and getting more food :) The food is very good. One drawback of this hotel is that it’s a little noisy at night and there are many lights from other building shinning, since it’s in the center of the city. However, we were so tired that we didn’t notice too much :) Overall- a good place to stay if you’re on a tight budget.

the rooms are average, VERY good restaurant though. We had a problem – the overflowing toilet! It wouldn’t stop and they had to move us into another room which didn’t have a working AC – we were moved TWO times!!! But finally got a room that was much better than any of the ones before! The rest of our stay was very pleasant, didn’t have any problems.

This was a goodhotel for its price. The room and bathroom were excellent. Nearness to city centre, friendly & very helpful staff, large & well-appointed room, generous breakfast. Rooms air-conditioned, phone in the room, TV.

we stayed in room on the first floor, it was a bit noisy but design is gorgeous, very lovely lobby.hotel with food to die for!!! going back without a doubt/2009.

While the rooms were comfortable and modern, the TV reception was terrible. Could only pickup about 10 channels. The TV was also pretty small. It would have been nice to have a flat screen in the rooms as opposed to hanging all over the lobby and front counter !

ok so the hotel may look old and have its outdated features but i had a great stay the service and staff was amazing allways checking if i was ok and the food was tremendous. Restaurant had Turkish cuisine and international, it was great! you can tell the chef takes time and puts alot into the food which is created.

stayed for 4 nights in room with twin beds. a bit small but comfortable - rates reasonable. just average, but OK for the price. good location. our room was nice and had a nice view on the sea. the main problem is the staff : unfriendly with their customers. they are also able to stop the air conditioning in the middle of the night to save money. beware the taxis in Istanbul. the taxi-meter is falsified (not always). never pay more than 15 liras if the taxi stays inside Istanbul.

This hotel is a great place to stay,and I have settled on this hotel as my favorite. The staff is great, the rooms are clean and very comfortable.We were on the 2th floor of the Sunlight Hotel with a partial view on the main street from our Room, room was air-conditioned with a nice TV, phone. Hotel staff and services were great, with excellent breakfast, The surrounding is excellent for relaxing. The hotel is close to shopping,restaurants,sightseeing places and the Spicy market, close to the airport, The lobby is very nice. We booked our tours, they’ll pick you up in front of the hotel, and car hire with the hotel tour desk who were very friendly and helpful. If you want comfort,good service and want to be close to everything then stay at this hotel.

I had booked a standard room and breakfast. The breakfast was O.K but the size of the room was little more than the size of the double bed! And it was difficult to keep the water in the shower without it getting all over the bathroom. The linens were clean, but the carpet was a bit dated.

Spent 3 nights in early December 2008. Central location, minutes walk to Old Town, Grand Bazaar. Hotel room was great - every comfort, great bathroom, tea/coffee, one triviality was that my wife said we could have done with more wardrobe space. The hotel staff are great, polite, helpful, and courteous. The hotel restaurant is excellent, superb food, first-class service, excellent international cuisine ; we ate in restaurant on 2 nights , and room-service was good.

We had a great time! The staff was very friendly & accomodating. Very clean & comforable setting. We will visit again in a heartbeat!!!!

My friends and I love this hotel and the staff. We are going again in May, which will be our 4th time at this hotel. Its not a 5 star like it would be at home, but its clean and really who goes to Istanbul for the food?

All I can say people, Location!, Location!, Location! That and friendly staff members at the Sunlight is about all it has going for it. Other than that, the hotel looks old and is in need of refurbishment!!!

Myself and my mother have recently had the pleasure of staying at this fine hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, special word of thanks to a waiting staff we nicknamed Ronaldo, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, hope to return later this year.

Upon arrival, we were booked into a room that was already occupied. Oops!! Our second room was on the first floor. Parts of the room looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time. Found a receipt on the floor from a month earlier, obviously vacuuming isn’t a priority. When we took a shower, we would turn the shower on, then go and watch TV for approx half an hour and even then, the water temperature was often too cold to begin. Our room had a double bed only and the mattress sagged in the middle.

We have just returned from the Sunlight, the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the guy on reception. We could not have been better looked after anywhere. I would recommend the Sunlight to everyone. Thank you all for making my sister in laws birthday so special.

The biggest problem of this hotel is their staff, rude with their customers! I don’t recommend staying in Sunlight, you can get a better hotel for the same price. When I arrived I was assigned a room with two beds though I reserved just one, but luckily the guide from turkey tPS was with me and helped me get what I asked for. Breakfast was a waste of time, I only had it once and decided not to go there again. But the rooms were clean and the view was nice.

This hotel is 10-star quality!! Everything surpassed our expectations:)) Loved the “old style” of the hotel like in Ottoman Empire times! Good service!Thank ya’ll!!!

Great hotel and eevrything was fine until somebody stole my wallet right in the bar, I was very upset, it was so crowded, we checked on security cameras but we couldn’t see nothing, so the wallet was gone, that was the biggest disappoinment I thought the hotel is a secured place!!

My family and I had a wonderfull stay in one of Istanbul amazing hotels – Sunlight Hotel. Even if I try very hard, I can’t find anything to criticize - price was kind of high, but if you look at how much space you get, and which service you get, than Sunlight is close to a bargain! Istanbul is amazing- if you haven’t seen it, then you haven’t lived!

I was not very satisfied with the quality of the hotel serivice and the service provided by its staff. Position wise it’s just great, but westayed in 302 and it was small, dark and with a very poor view. The receptionist was not very knowledgable about directions and wasn’t willing to help or ask someone else to help the customers.
