Tan Hotel [S-Class]  

We had a pretty comfortable room, pretty big and bright. It’s not the best place I’ve stayed at but not bad enough to make me want to come again! One time the cleaning lady didn’t come to clean my room but other than that day my room was cleaned every day and everything worked well, didn’t have to complain about anything but housekeeping.

I chose Tan Hotel because I wanted to be in the center of the city. Location was nice indeed, but room had a few flaws: mold in the bathroom, and hair-dryer didn’t work. Also, flaws in customer service, otherwise nice hotel.

We spent at this hotel 3 nights. Room was comfortable, and were equiped with everything for a leisure traveller. Staff was not always polite and wasn’t even at the desk some times when we needed them. The internet was very slow.

i stayed in Tan hotel in january it was not a great experience though it wasnt too bad, it was very clean just the showers weren’t that good, the water pressure was weak, are they savign water?? n there wasnt a nice view from the windows id give it 8 out of 10

Good totel? I don’t think so. We had a TV but no remote (??!). The curtains were falling off,the furniture is old,there is a drainy smell in Reception BUT the linen is clean and white with towels changed daily. The location is awesome. Food served for breakfast was not the best in Istanbul cause we checked out several restaurants in the area and it was much better to dine there.

Although this hotel is pretty much brand new, it feels like it has been here for as long as the city itself, with all its old world charm. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Perfect for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is situated a few steps from Grand Bazaar with easy access to all city attractions. The view over the water is stunning. The hotel has its own jacuzzi also. The buffet breakfast is of stunning proportions, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, as would be expected of a 5 star hotel. Worth the money, definitely!

The breakfast was simple: toasts, butter/jam, coffee/tea, milk and cornflakes. A friend who was travelling with us got double bedroom, witch was very much like ours. Another friend stayed in a single quite small and simple room, but clean, fairly quiet and with a larger bathroom. There was indeed some old furniture and an old mattress past the reception on the way to her room, as there were some works and refits being done. In a nutshell we can say that we really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Tan Hotel ; its nice, clean, close to the city and yet affordable and good value for the money. We had the pleasure of staying the Tan Hotel last October 2008. We booked over the internet on turkeytps and we must say we found this hotel very nice. It was quiet, (some of the rooms in front of the main busy road may get a little noisy though), well-located next to the Hippodrome, Grand Bazaar. Reception is open 24h/24 and the keys stay at the hotel. The area is nice, including the large park right across from the hotel, restaurants and bars close by, as well as supermarkets nearby. The double room we got was actually quite large, simple but nice furniture, comfortable bed, television, cute balcony and a small, but clean bathroom. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful.

On arrival nice service , people in the morning at breakfast were excellent and made the holiday for us. We have stayed in many hotels in istnbul with short breaks holidays and this was the first that actually interacted with us so thanks. For anyone wanting a good holiday it is excellent.

Good location, basic and clean, quite acceptable for the price. mini-bar, modem connection in our room. good water pressure in the shower. tiny elevator which struggles to fit more than two people and one suitcase. breakfast was nothing lavish but included in the budget price. the price makes it worth a short stay in my opinion. Minute walk to the touristy old town

Stayed at the Tan Hotel. We travel a lot and I must say it was the best ever,the breakfast was very good and hot and the hospitality we received when we arrived and leaving and during our stay made us feel more than welcome. Just like we were at home

I stayed with my family (wife and son) from 8/16/2008 for 3 nights. This is very close to grand Bazaar, has an excellent staff, great breakfast. We had a great experience and will surely return to this place in the future

The reception and lobby at Tan hotel are quite beautiful, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room, although lacking any sort of view, was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, (with a desk, tea/coffee facilities) with only a small problem with the shower, which had a tendency to try flooding the room.... The location is great, a 5 minute pleasant walk takes you to the city historical center and the legendary Blue mosque, Grand Bazaar. If you can’t/won’t walk that distance, as soon as you walk out of the hotel, a petit taxi usually appears as if by magic, so hone your negotiation skills and jump in! Breakfasts were good, with a great selection of dates, figs, apricots, prunes and other mixed fruits to give that authentic Turkey feel to be washed down with a mint tea (but that’s an acquired taste).

I travel a lot and Tan hotel is probably one of the nicest hotels I have been to. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a very nice modern style, there isn’t a detail missing. The rooms have both wireless and cable internet connection. The restaurant is fantastic and the breakfast selection is extremely good. The price was excellent as well. I would give this hotel 5 stars and the price I paid was that of a 4 star hotel! I would recommend this to anyone. The only downside is that it appears to be close to the city centre and there is the morning traffic.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and the facilities and service are good. There’s fast internet access in the rooms which is very convenient and I found that for working in the room in the evening it was comfortable and spacious, there was desk in the room. The hotel is also located close to shops and restaurants so you don’t need to feel tied to the hotel menu and prices. I was on the 2nd floor and the view over Istanbul is spectacular. There is a good jakuzzi.

Spent three nights at this hotel with my boyfriend just before the new year. Our stay was very pleasant and hassle free. We were given a wonderful room on the 2nd floor with a great view. The hotel is very central and it’s very easy to get around Istanbul. The jakuzzi area is very nice too. Would recommend it.

Spent 2 nights at this hotel on a business trip. Seems newly decorated, very modern design, nice quiet location. Only negative thing for me was that the breakfast room hasn’t been renovated/updated and does not match the style of the new rooms. But I loved the garden terrace and roof terrace, good bar, good place to relax. All in all extremely nice hotel, though, and I would definitely stay there again.

We were staying at Tan Hotel for the Christmas period. Check-in went smoothly. We got a room at the 2nd floor. These rooms are nicely refurbished and classic modern. The bed is huge and very comfy. the badroom is superbly clean and the shower is big. we got surprised twice from housekeeping. The 25th, they’ve put a chocolate Santa Claus on the desk and the 26th we found a little praline waiting for us. Also when we checked out, we got another chocolate surprise. Talking about the breakfast, there’s wide choice with croissants and multivitamin juice. The hotel features also a cocktailbar serving a nice selection of alcolholfree cocktails. The hotel has multilingual and attentive staff, they’re very helpful. We booked online on turkeytps back in September, A great rate for a great hotel. We would certainly recommend this. The locaton is in downtown, heart of the city.

Very,very noisy. bad place to sleep. In the restaurant there is a very limited choice and the food is of poor quality. In the morning you have to hurry for the breakfast because otherwise the plates are empty and they won’t be refilled always, but hote lis clean
