Is it better to rent an apartment or book a hotel in Istanbul?

We do not advise you to rent an apartment in Istanbul. Especially if you’re going for a short period up to a month. You will have more hassle and problems of such a method of house renting. Plus you’ll have to leave a deposit, sign a contract and so on. Is that what you want? Recently the rental fee in Istanbul has risen much in price, but finding the right one is extremely difficult. It’s not in vain there are more than a thousand hotels in Istanbul today. It makes sense to rent an apartment in Istanbul only if you are going for more than a month. If you go to Istanbul for a shorter period, choose a hotel without fail.
One more thing: it’s almost no chance for a foreigner to rent an apartment in Istanbul, he needs to have a residence permit or Turkish nationality.

Hotel Erbil (ex Asur Hotel) - is just two steps away from the Cathedral of St. Sophia and Blue Mosque. Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace and Suleymaniye Mosque are placed not far from it. There are lots of cafes, McDonald’s and a tram stop near the hotel. The staff is very friendly.
Golden Crown Hotel - is located in the old town just a few meters from the Grand Bazaar and the Museum of Fine Arts. These kinds of hotels are often called "solid three stars". This is true: nothing unnecessary, without any frills but clean and comfortable. The hotel is particularly suitable for those who will devote most of their time in Istanbul to walks.
