Some information about Istanbul districts

Before going to Istanbul you should think about where you will stay during you visit, that is – which one of the famous districts will suit you the best, because all of them are so different! First of all, we offer you to take a look at three the most famous districts of the city – Sultanahmet, Laleli and Taksim.

Sultanahmet

It’s probably, the most famous district of Istanbul. The cultural and historical center of the city where all tourists long to get to, being impressed with the stories about its beauties and ancient historical heritage. Here the majority of the city’s sights are located. Among which is Hagia Sophia, the Blue mosque, Dolmabahce palace, Yerebatan, and other place for the sake of which great number of Istanbul guests come. Besides this there is one more plus in Sultanahmet – a giant choice of comfortable hotels, in which you will feel in the heart of the city and economize time for the road to the city’s sights.

Laleli

This district of Istanbul is the paradise of shopping-lovers. Here you can buy almost everything you want and at a rather moderate price. If the goal of your visit to Istanbul is shopping or you just plan to walk along its best shops and stores, Laleli is your destination. Even if walking around the city you occasionally get here, you will probably, not leave it without any purchase – there is such a big seduction of comfortable and various shopping. Besides shops in Laleli there also are local sights, such as the famous Laleli mosque.

Taksim

Taksim is the district, by right named the business center of Istanbul. You will find nowhere else in Istanbul such a great number of modern offices. But, of course, this is not all. There are plenty of expensive restaurants, night clubs, cinemas and hotels there. This district is made for active life. The architecture of Taksim is different from the rest of the city. Here the European style - Modern prevails over the others. This is why when you get here you will be surprised with its disparateness from more traditional districts of Istanbul. It’s impossible to imagine Taksim without Beyoglu district, with which it is connected by Istiklal avenue. Beyoglu is the distractive district of the city, filled with different advertising houses. This is why it always so merry and noisy here.
