Accommodation in Bostanci
Bostanci - the district of courtiers
Among many Istanbul areas Bostanci stands out for its truly oriental subtlety. This is not Asia, of course, but also not Europe, as we see it in Istanbul’s Taksim or Sultanahmet. The name of this wonderful area comes from the name of the court post. This happened because there has long been settled lords attracted by silence and peace of the area. They still remain the hallmarks of Bostanci. Besides, there are several reasons for deciding to choose accommodation in Bostanci.
Baghdad in Istanbul
Do not be surprised. There is Baghdad in Istanbul! To tell the truth, it’s not the city, but the street. This avenue stretches for several kilometers, it is a strikingly beautiful street with many shops, stores, restaurants... This is similar to Istiklal Avenue in Taksim, but Baghdad is a more oriental street. Therefore, it is not so husty, it is more colorful and in general remarkably resembles the atmosphere of Old Baghdad. And, of course, its brisk trade. Bostanci is ideal for tourists who want not only to explore the culture and history of this city, but also go shopping. Shopping here is really oriental! With shops, cheerful vendors, the opportunity to bargain the price, drink coffee and feel like in a fairy tale about Aladdin and his magic lamp...
Hotels
Accommodation in Bostanci offers mostly four and five star hotels, comfortable and spacious. Usually different groups prefer to settle here: the local hotels are perfect for meetings, conferences, gatherings... Like any five star hotel in Istanbul, a similar hotel in Bostanci offers its guests the opportunity to swim in the pool, relax in the Turkish bath, eat in one of two or more restaurants... In general, the synonym for the local hotels is the word "luxury".
Atmosphere
Despite the fact that Bostanci is not located in the European part of Istanbul and, therefore, there are almost no monuments of early Byzantium, you still have something here to admire. This is primarily Bostanci pier, from where you can reach any point of the city by sea. And not only. For example, you can take a trip to the Princes’ Islands. They are wonderful nine islands, where any means of transport is prohibited, except bicycles or horse-drawn carts. You’ll find pure air, wonderful views, gorgeous beaches. All this splendor is within one hour and a half journey from Bostanci. The island received its name from the fact that in the times of the Byzantine Empire it was chosen by the courtiers.
But the main attraction of Bostanci is its indescribable atmosphere, of course. Only here, in the old town, in a small area, you can see the real Istanbul life. The houses are so close here that you can see out of the window how your neighbor is cooking and hear from the street voices of vendors of fresh pastry and boiled corn, candyfloss, fruit, water...
