In fact, a lift in a hotel makes your life easier, especially if your room is on a high floor. The problem starts to be particularly acute if you have bad legs or you have difficulty with movement. Do not panic
Remember, falling lifts are only in the cinemas! They do not depend on electricity. They are simple and reliable. Therefore, the lifts which have been manufactured after the 20th of XX century cannot fall. Take it easy
It is better to behave confidently, not to jump and tear your feet off the floor, having hung on the handrail. One more thing: if you got stuck, do not try to get out of the cabin by yourself! Yes, you can open the door and try to jump out the cabin. But the risk of stumbling and falling into the well is very high.
Call out for help
Call the electrical engineer through the lift microphone or call the control room in the hotel or the rescue service. If you didn’t manage to call these services, call out for help: shout, knock, but everything within limits. In expectation of help entertain yourself: play games in your mobile phone or call your friends. If this will take several hours - try to fall asleep.
In case of fire
At first signs of ignition in the cabin or well, immediately inform the dispatcher about that having pressed the button "emergency call". If the elevator is moving - do not stop it by yourself but wait for the stop. Having left the cabin, block the door with anything to prevent somebody from using the lift again and appear in a trap. If the lift has stopped between floors, the hot spot is outside the cabin and it is impossible to extinguish it - shout, wap upon the walls of the cabin, call out for help. Try to move apart automatic doors of the lift and get out of it. If you cannot leave the elevator by yourself, before the arrival of the help, close your nose and mouth with your handkerchief, sleeve of your clothes, having moistened it with water, milk or even with urine.
If you are outside
It may happen that you are outside and you hear a call for help from the got stuck lift. First of all, call the elevator attendant. Can’t find him? Try to define the floor on which the lift has got stuck, disconnect the system and manually, by means of a winch, hoist the lift up to the necessary floor on which it is possible to open the lift by means of the special lock. Certainly, modern lifts are so qualitative and well equipped that you will hardly need our advices. Nevertheless, the person is armed who is warned. We don’t know the elevator system in your house.
