Did you know...

…the greatest sultan of Ottoman dynasty, Suleiman I, was… blacksmith by trade. The case is that his forerunner, sultan Selim I, didn’t want the heir to the throne to grow as kid-glove. That’s why little Suleiman learned the trade of blacksmith.

Hotels near Eminonu

If you live in Istanbul far from the Bosphorus or Golden Horn, it means you were not lucky with the choice of hotel. After all, a unique feature of the city lies in the fact that many of its areas are literally stretched along the sea. It makes no sense to live in the depths of Istanbul, away from the sea. Try to choose hotels close to the sea. Today we will tell you about Istanbul hotels near Eminonu.

About the berth

Eminonu is a place of cult in Istanbul. There’s always a lot of tourists and townspeople. Every ten or fifteen minutes you can see steamers, ships, yachts, boats mooring to the berth... People eat fish kebabs, admire the sea, meet and see off each other, wait for their ships to get to their district.

Tours

The main thing a tourist gains when booking a hotel room next to Eminonu is a daily opportunity to travel along the Bosphorus. Tours are sold everywhere. Barkers stand right by the pier, inviting you to come aboard and make a 1-hour (or 2 or 3-hour - on request) Istanbul cruise. The price is from $10 to 40, depending on the vessel.

Sightseeing

There is a set of unique architectural monuments in Istanbul close to Eminonu pier. This is the New Mosque, built in the beginning of the Renaissance, and the Egyptian Market, where they sell spices for centuries. Not far from the bazaar there’s famous Suleymaniye Mosque, where Sultan Suleyman and his beloved wife Roksolana are buried. In general, there are enough mosques, temples, markets and simply wonderful places for months of excursions!

Hotels

Most hotels near Eminonu have three stars, they are small and fairly cheap. In fact they administratively relate to Sirkeci (maritime part of the historical center of Istanbul, Sultanahmet). Sirkeci is famous for its cheap hotels and S-class hotels. Typically, they have small number of rooms, excellent food and personal approach to clients. At the same time, it is not a boutique hotel, selling something on the first floor that is not always convenient for guests. The average price of hotel room at the Eminonu pier is about $50-70.
